Dogs

Every week we have a wide variety of dogs/puppies up for adoption. The dogs have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested, and are microchipped. Please go to our FAQ page to learn about our adoption fees, adoption requirements, policies, how to adopt, as well as other things to consider before you adopt.

.

A pre-adoption questionnaire must be filled out by all prospective adopters for each dog you are interested in. You can fill out the pre-adoption questionnaire down below(faster option) or you may complete one at an adoption event. Our pet adoptions are held every Saturday from 11:00am – 3pm. If you would like to inquire about our animals (besides coming to our pet adoption) you may contact us via email. Please keep in mind that we are volunteers and have families and jobs but we will respond to your email as quickly as possible, especially if it is an emergency. All HB dogs, unless otherwise noted, are indoor dogs.

A word about ages: We do our best to accurately represent the ages of the dogs in our program. Sometimes we have good information on that, many times we do not. Working with sending shelters, our experience, and our vet we strive to make our “best guess.” There may be times when paperwork will not match what we’ve stated. Sometimes the birthday may be miss keyed in paperwork from the sending shelter such as a dog that is obviously an adult whose paperwork states they are 18 days old or a puppy who is listed as being three years old. In addition, many dogs that come into rescue have not had the highest quality diet and their teeth may appear “older” than they really are. Sometimes it may be a difference in opinion. Sometimes it may be an error in communication. While we try to be accurate we cannot offer a guarantee on an animal’s age.

HB Ages

Foster Homes Needed: We are always looking for new foster homes. If you have ever wanted to help, now is the time! To learn more about fostering, please go to our Foster Facts page. The dogs (and cats!) thank you for considering becoming a foster mom, dad or family!

Homeward Bound encourages people who plan to visit the adoption events to complete the online application below, prior to the event, so you are approved if you find a match for you there. Prior approval of applications is needed to take a dog home from the event.

Pre-adopt Questionnaire

Name: Adira

Adira is an adorable 3-4year old border collie/ lab mix. This girl has the perfect amount of energy. If you’re looking for a dog that just chills in the house one day and is up for a hike or adventure the next day, this is your dog. Adira would be a great running buddy. She also loves to play fetch with a tennis ball. I’m pretty sure she would play fetch all day long if we let her. She does like to play with other dogs but can be a little bossy sometimes. She ignores the cats in her foster home. Adira would be best in a home with older kids as she does have some energy that might be a little much for younger kids. She is also potty trained and crate trained. Adira was previously from a shelter in Mexico. She’s not quite sure how to just be a dog, and it’s a joy watching her learn how to run and play, come for pets, and soak up affection. With some love, socialization, and training Adira will learn that life as a dog can be amazing! Please email cateekoltes@gmail.com

Name: Atticus

Atticus is a quirky, funny, affectionate 4-5year old lab/ cattle dog mix. Life has not been kind to this sweet boy. Atticus came into a shelter in Mexico about 2 years ago with pellets in his body from being shot, a broken pelvis that had healed up on its own, and was also tied up outside as a puppy and now has a little scar on his neck. Now that Atticus has recovered from his injuries he is so loving and playful. He is quite the resilient dog! For almost half his life he has only known what it’s like to be in a shelter. At his foster home, he is learning how to be in a house and how to be a dog. He is so unsure of how to play with other dogs, he really tries to but it’s a little awkward. We sure love watching him learn, and seeing the sparks of joy in his eyes when he plays with us humans is heartwarming. Atticus really wants someone to bond with and love. He would do best in a house with a confident outgoing dog to show him how to be a dog. Atticus is being fostered with dogs and cats. He would do best in a home with older kids who know how to respect a dog’s space because he is a little bit hesitant in his interactions with people. With some love, patience, and training Atticus will know that no one will ever hurt him again. He is working on potty training and he is crate trained. He especially loves having a blanket in his crate.   Please email cateekoltes@gmail.com

.

Name: Babs

Babs is a sweet middle aged ( about 7-8 years) very petite female black Lab mix with a gentle soul, a calm demeanor, and manners that impress all of us. She’s full grown at about 40 pounds and has a lot in her favor. House trained, crate trained, well behaved, likes kids, polite with other dogs and cats.  She is used to living as an only and seems perfectly content with that. Babs likes car rides and walks, kid time and curling up in bed with someone. Please email kladams4545@gmail.com or do the application at https://forms.gle/97p7hMTjGyCUkLbT6

.

Name: Bo

Breed: Terrier Mix
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male
Size: Medium
Description: Bo is a 9-month old male Terrier mix needing an adopter who has some dog experience. He has shown resource guarding against kids, and thrives in an adult, structured environment. He is house trained, crate trained, minds some commands, and would love a home with someone who can continue training, boundaries, and no kids. He does well with other dogs. Please email Katie @ kladams4545@gmail.com with questions. You can get a head start on the process by fill out the application above.

.

Name: Bonnie

Bonnie is a 4 month old female Rat Terrier/Border Collie mix (?), looks to be mixed with something smaller but we don’t know for sure- she is currently 18 pounds, vet guess is 35-40 as an adult. Bonnie loves the creature comforts of soft dog beds, the joy of kids to play with, other pets for buddies, and being good. Being a good dog is very, very important to her, she’s sensitive.  She is doing well with learning the house training and is crated when alone. She is still very much a puppy, so needs continued patience and training, but Bonnie catches on quickly. Her fee of $550 plus tax includes spay, shots, worming, and chip, and we have a 2 week trial on all adoptions. Please email kladams4545@gmail.com or do the application at https://forms.gle/97p7hMTjGyCUkLbT6

.

Name: Boone

Boone is an 8 month Lab/Shepherd mix in need of a foster or adopter. He is a friendly and outgoing boy, used to kids and dogs and cats, but lost his farm dog life privileges because he wants to kill chickens. So, he is hoping for a home with no birds to kill. Boone is crate trained, used to being both inside the house and spending time outside on land so would like a home with yard space. He’s smart, happy, playful, and a good dog. Please email kladams4545@gmail.com if you can foster or adopt.

.

Name: Bowie

Breed: Beagle
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male
Size: Medium
Description: Bowie is a Beagle with some baggage. Cute as can be, this young adult Beagle has a lot of Beagle traits (the bay, the enthusiasm for long sniffing walks, the passion for food, and wily smarts) but came to us with some serious resource guarding issues. He went through behavior rehab and is doing wonderfully, but without an experienced dog owner will revert back. He used to guard food, items he thought were his, and his sleeping space, and would react with a bite. At this point, in foster care, he allows us to handle him all over, take food and treats away, and move him. He needs an experienced owner to continue boundaries, training, and kind firmness. We adore him, we have no issues right now (except with cats, he hates cats). Bowie is house trained, crated when alone, loves walks, would do best with a fenced outside area, and we are highly recommending continued training classes. Please email Katie @ kladams4545@gmail.com with questions. You can get a head start on the process by filling out the application above.

.

.

Name: Cabo

Cabo is an adult German Shepherd, rescued from the streets of Mexico, and is now adjusting to home life in MN. He is well house trained, has not needed a crate, walks well on the leash, and is very laid back and quiet. He is, however, extremely protective of his home, and needs an adopter who can manage this behavior through training and behavior management ( for example, he gets crated every time someone comes in the door). Cabo does well with other dogs but can not live with cats. His ideal home would have some land and not many visitors, as well as needing someone who can manage an overly protective dog of their home. Out and about he is just fine. Please email kladams4545@gmail.com

.

.

.

.

Name: Coco

Coco is an adult dog, a very social, outgoing, affectionate Rat Terrier/Doxie? mix, about 15 pounds. He is friendly with all people, used to kids, good with other dogs and cats. Coco was previously an outside dog and although we know he is just learning the house training, he is doing amazing– VERY few accidents and he is reliably crate trained. Coco is a medium energy dog who loves walks and also loves hanging out at home. His fee of $550 includes neuter, shots, worming, heartworm test, and chip. Please do the application at https://forms.gle/tiYMYnKnGQQotgJz5

.

Name: Cookie

Cookie is just as sweet as her name. She is a fun, loving, quirky, 10lb terrier mix. She is about a year old so she won’t get much (if any bigger) than that. Cookie has had a little bit of a rough start to life. She was abandoned at a vet clinic a few months ago when she was extremely sick. It has been a tough recovery but now that she is 100% healthy, Cookie is ready to find her new home that can show her no one will ever leave her again. When she first meets new people, she is not quite sure what to do. She is a little timid but once she warms up, she wants nothing more than to be as close to people as possible. She thrives on attention but she will also happily lay by your feet. Cookie is crate trained, she needs a little bit of work with potty training but she will catch on in no time. She would also benefit from obedience/ training classes to help build her confidence. Cookie prefers dogs that are a little bit more mellow and quiet, active/high-energy dogs make her a little nervous. She gets along great with the cats in her foster home and she would be a great little dog with  small dog savvy kids too ( 10+).  Please email cateekoltes@gmail.com with questions.

.

Name: Dharma

Dharma is an adolescent female mixed breed who came to us from Mexico, and this sweet, gentle, somewhat shy girl is a joy to watch learning to trust. She seems to perhaps be Lab and Shepherd, probably with a million other things mixed in, and she is such a soft and sweet soul. Dharma is fostered with kids and other dogs, and is very respectful of cats also. She needs some confidence building, some life experiences and a lot of love, and she is worth the extra time at the beginning. Dharma is learning house training, crates when alone, and would do best with a fenced in yard and another dog in her home. She is available for a 2 week trial, and her fee includes spay, shots, heartworm test, worming and chip. Please email kladams4545@gmail.com

.

.

Name: Gilbert

Gilbert is a young adult Doxie/Terrier mix with a sunny, happy personality. He enjoys kids, does well with other dogs and cats, loves to be out being social. Gilbert seems to be house trained, although we caution all adopters to expect accidents as they transition, and is crated when alone. He is available September 10th for a 2 week trial, and his fee includes neuter, shots, heartworm test, worming and chip. He is heartworm positive and we will be treating through our clinic, included in his adoption fee.  Please email kladams4545@gmail.com

Name: Grim

Where are all of my active outdoorsy people at? If you are looking for a dog that is always up for a new adventure this is your girl! Grim is an absolute gem. She is a 4 year old husky mix. She has been in a shelter since July 2022. Now that she is in a foster home she wants nothing more than to be with people, play and run in the backyard with the other dogs and she adores playing the toys, especially balls. With some obedience training, Grim will be the perfect hiking partner, cabin companion, running/biking buddy, etc. Grim is crate-trained and house-trained. She gets along with the dogs in her foster home, although she can be a little much for the smaller dogs and she does great with the cats. Grim would do best in a home where she can have another dog to play with and a fenced-in yard where she can run around in.Please email cateekoltes@gmail.com with questions.

.

Name: Howie

Howie is an adult male Australian Shepherd/English Shepherd mix, used to cats and enjoys playing with other dogs, seeking a new home. He has been well loved, and his family is seeking a new home because they know he needs more exercise and training than they can give him. Howie is house trained, crate trained, knows some basic commands. He is seeking a home with yard space or acreage and someone committed to daily training and exercise, which his breed needs. He is comfortable with little kids but his manners indicate to us that he would do best in a home with older kids and adults. Behaviorally, he needs socialization and work on not barking at new people when they come into the home. He is otherwise a stable and happy dog, and warms up to newcomers after a few minutes. Howie LOIVES the ball, splashing in water, and cuddling up to sleep. Please email kladams4545@gmail.com with questions.

.

Name: Jethro

Breed: Beagle/Hound Dog Mix
Age: Adult
Sex: Male
Size: Medium
Description: Jethro was found in a rural area, known for dumping and not reclaimed. He deserves so much more than this. He looks like a mix of a beagle and hound dog. He is the sweetest, always happy and gets along well with everyone. In typical hound fashion, he does bark some, but its only for attention or when its feeding time. He walks well on a leash. His nose leads the way when loose, so recall is not great- a fenced yard or commitment to walks is needed. He gets along with all dogs, and has been good with the 2 children ages 5 & 8 he is living with. He was fine inside meeting kittens, but outside he will chase cats. Jethro is about 2-3 yrs. old, 40lbs, neutered, heartworm treated and on prevention. He is available to adopt August 6th. His fee of $450 plus tax covers neuter, heartworm test, worming, shots and chip. Ideally we would like someone to pick him up the 6th and do a 2 week foster to adopt trial. Please email Katie @ kladams4545@gmail.com with questions. You can get a head start on the process by fill out the application above.

Name: Josie

Josie is a 4 month old female Border Collie mix, looks to be mixed with something smaller but we don’t know for sure. She is driven to pass out kisses, make new dog friends, get the cats to play with her, and learn some tricks. She is doing well with learning the house training and is crated when alone. She is still very much a puppy, so needs continued patience and training, but Josie catches on quickly. Her fee of $550 plus tax includes spay, shots, worming, and chip, and we have a 2 week trial on all adoptions. Name: Luka

Luka is a young adult male Pug/Rat Terrier mix, a blonde guy with a bob tail, about 15 pounds. Luka is a puzzle… he is shy at first, then bonds to you so hard and is a high energy, bouncy, active love. He for sure needs a home with yard space and a high activity level for him, and no shared walls ( he barks). Luka is doing well with house training and crates well when alone. He enjoys other dogs and is fine with cats. Please email kladams4545@gmail.com

.

Name: Koshi

Koshi is a 9 month female mixed breed, close to full grown at 33 pounds, and charms everyone who meets her. She smiles, she wags and kisses, she melts right into your lap when you sit down. Koshi is a people pleaser through and through, and is going to make a perfect buddy or family companion. She is doing well with learning the house training and is crated when alone. She is still very much a puppy mentally, so needs continued patience and training. Her foster has given her a great start. Her fee of $450 plus tax includes spay, shots, worming, and chip, and we have a 2 week trial on all adoptions. Please email kladams4545@gmail.com or do the application at https://forms.gle/97p7hMTjGyCUkLbT6

.

Name: Logan

Logan is a 1 year old Goldendoodle seeking a very specific home. She is very outgoing and happy and friendly to everyone, including kids, dogs, cats, and even horses. She is house trained, hates the crate so does well with someone home most of the time and with a structured routine. Her current foster leaves her loose inside for periods of a few hours with their other dog and she does very well. Logan requires a hobby farm type situation, or somewhere with lots of land for her to run freely on with human supervision and playtime. She will NOT do well with a city yard or even daily walks, she needs the hours of running and playing chase with dog friends, fetch, swimming, trail rides, etc. She learns boundaries well. If you have an active lifestyle and land, and want an always happy big dopey dog to join you, please email kladams4545@gmail.com

.

.

.

Name: Lola

Lola is a chubby little 40 pound mixed breed, anyone’s best guess. She’s happy and bouncy and loves to play, especially with kids big enough to play with her. Lola came to us as an unclaimed stray, and is learning things like house training now. She does need some continued work as she is new to being in the house. She is crate training. Lola enjoys other dogs and playing with them, but lacks some innate dog social graces, such as knowing which dogs want to play. I think she’d find herself in trouble at a dog park, trying to play with the wrong dogs. She does well on walks, loves toys and attention, and in a home willing to put in some routine training she is going to just blossom. She is heartworm positive and being treated through us as part of her adoption. Please email kladams4545@gmail.com

Name: Louisa

Breed: Beagle/Boxer/Shar Pei Mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female
Size: Medium
Description: Louisa is a young adult female medium size (35-40 or so pounds) Beagle/Boxer/Shar Pei mix, and we have been learning her and loving her for the past few months. Louisa was rescued from a hoarding situation and gave birth in the shelter on Easter Sunday to some beautiful pups. She and the babies came into foster care and she has been blossoming. Louise is cautious with new people but with a little time and patience easily won over, and her loyalty is unbeatable to those she loves. She is dog and cat friendly, used to caged guinea pigs, reliably house trained and quiet in the crate when alone. Louisa LOVES daily run time on the hobby farm and is good about coming back right when called. She likes the car. Louisa is especially cautious with men and young kids, so her ideal home would be a woman, a fenced yard, and another dog to wrestle and play with, or somewhere with some land. For the person/family willing to make the time and patience investment, she is going to spend every day for the rest of her life repaying it. Please email Katie @ kladams4545@gmail.com with questions. You can get a head start on the process by fill out the application above.

MaylieName: Maylie

Breed: Australian Shepherd/Border Collie Mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female
Size: Medium
Description: Meet Maylie! Maylie is a 1-2 year old Australian Shepherd mix who is searching for that just right family to call her own. Maylie found herself in a rural, high kill shelter, skinny and emaciated, and caring for her two young pups (they have since been adopted). Since then, Maylie has blossomed in her foster home, put on a good amount of weight, and has learned all the great things life as a family pet has to offer. Maylie is slow to warm up to new people and dogs, it takes time and patience for her to trust. Once she does trust you though, you will have a loyal and devoted protector. Maylie requires a home with a physically fenced yard and another young, non dominant dog. She spends most of her waking hours running and playing in the yard with the other dogs in her foster home. She is a homebody, and would prefer a family who is the same. She is not going to be the kind of dog who likes going to dog parks, or on walks in populated areas. She has no interest in fetch or sports and just wants to play with the other dogs and her people, and cuddle up on the couch for a good movie night. Maylie needs someone fairly experienced in training dogs. She does have some resource guarding issues with other dogs (likely due to not having many promised meals in her life prior to coming to us) and needs to be fed separately from the other dogs, and supervised with bones. Maylie loves visiting kids, but would do best in a home with older, well mannered children. Maylie is fostered with cats and does well. She is a herding dog, so she will chase them if they run.
Her fee of $450 plus tax covers spay, shots, heartworm test, worming and microchip. We do a 2-week trial on all adoptions. Please email Linzy @ linzyg1988@gmail.com with questions. You can get a head start on the process by fill out the application here

Name: Mia

Mia is a confident, outgoing, well adjusted Lab/Boxer mix puppy of about 5-6 months. She has been well raised in an experienced foster home and is social and has a wonderful start to her training.  She’s good with kids and other dogs and cats, doing very well with host training and crated when left alone. Her biggest wish is to have her own family for this Holiday season and all of the rest of the Holidays going forward. Please email kladams4545@gmail.com

Name: Meiko

Meiko is a 6 month, 22 pound Lab mix puppy who was found in heart wrenching shape. She was skeletal thin, had a collar that had grown into her neck all the way to exposing her trachea. A shelter has asked us to take her, but we need a foster/adopter commitment to do so. She is playful, submissive, clearly been mistreated as she seems to expect to be hit, but learning to trust humans. She needs routine puppy training like house training and manners. Her foster/adopter does need to be within driving distance of our clinic in Fridley for her spay. Please email kladams4545@gmail.com

We can not have someone say yes without being committed to adoption or fostering until adopted. We have no open fosters at this time.

Names: Missy and Petey

Petey and Missy are looking for a home together. This adult female/male pair of Chihuahua mixes came to us when their owner passed away, and they are beyond sweet. They are house trained, quiet, friendly, and sure do love each other a lot- your heart melts when they cuddle up together. They do well with cats and other smaller quiet dogs, and although they have never been nippy, they have only known life with an adult so we are seeking a calm adult home for them. Petey and Missy are loveable, easy to live with dogs who are going to enrich someone’s life so much. Give them a soft bed, some bones to chew, walks, and love, and they are happy. They are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative, wormed and chipped. Please email kladams4545@gmail.com

Name: Millie

Millie is a middle aged female Yellow Lab/Golden? mix, a people loving girl who is well behaved, smart, enjoys walks and play but settles down very well since she is well past puppyhood at about 5 years old. She seems to be house trained, enjoys spending some time outside with her people, but happiest curled up near you wherever you are. She can be picky about other dogs, so would be happiest in a home as an only dog, although she is polite meeting others out and about. She enjoys kids. Name: Mo

Mo is a 3-4 month Australian Shepherd mix puppy, about 20 pounds, and he is seeking a home that wants an adventure friend. This breed is known for needing committed daily mental and physical exercise, and being a puppy we prefer someone home more than an 8-9 hour workday if possible. He is used to kids, dogs and cats, learning the house training, crated when alone. He has always had canine companionship. Mo is a smart, friendly, curious puppy. Please do some research into the needs of herding breeds before wanting him because he’s cute. His fee of $550 plus tax covers neuter, shots, worming and chip. Please email kladams4545@gmail.com

Name : Niea

Niea is a 1 year old black Lab, raised with kids, house trained and super sweet. She is seeking a new home with a fenced yard, or someone with land and not dogs going by all the time. Prior to having puppies, Niea loved all dogs… but after having a litter and one pup staying in the home, she does not enjoy other dogs coming into her yard when her pup is out. When her pup is not around she does wonderfully. Niea has no cat experience. She has been very loved, and once separated from her pup will be able to relax again . She has always loved and been very trusted with her four kids she has been raised with. Niea likes walks, ball, car rides, and being petted. She is a wonderful companion dog or family friend. Please email kladams4545@gmail.com

.

Name: Odie

Odie is a smart, high energy, loveable 35 pound Lab/Rat Terrier mix ( probably with Terrier, he acts like a Terrier more) who has a lot of positive things going for him. He is house trained, enjoys his crate for the workday, respects your property and is not destructive. He does well with cats and most other dogs, although we are working on his possessiveness with treats with SOME other dogs. He allows people to handle all of his toys and treats. Odie does require a fenced yard or someone who will walk daily, he needs an outlet but has shown he is not reliable off leash- he likes to run. He plays well with toys inside, and does settle well. Odie is a dog who needs boundaries or he will run the show. In his foster home he is not allowed on couches/beds, has to sit and wait for food and to go out a door, and gets corrected when he misbehaves. He did alarm bark when people came, and we had a treat jar outside so visitors would give him treats as they came in, and now he loves company. He’s worth the extra time it takes to enforce the limits he needs. Please email kladams4545@gmail.com for pictures and videos.

Age: Adult
Sex: Male
Size: Medium

He is happy and craves attention, but when corrected he will act like a tough guy (snarl) but has never tried to actually bite. He is house trained, crate trained, does well with other dogs, and prefers adults. Peter Pan is about 25-30 pounds, loves walks, loves toys, and needs a home who won’t be scared when he sounds like a grump. His fee of $450 plus tax includes neuter, heartworm test, shots, and worming. Please email Katie @ kladams4545@gmail.com with questions. .

Name: Skyler

Skyler is a mellow middle aged Golden/Collie/Chow best guess, and although she clearly has lived a hard life ( skeletal, filthy, had many many litters, never been inside before) she is going to make someone the best family companion. She walks like a dream on the leash, very polite. Skyler gets along with other dogs, cats, and likes kids. She will avoid rowdy dogs in her face by moving away, she’s not a dog park fan, but she does very well greeting other dogs on leash. Skyler is a trusting soul and willing to try anything you ask of her. She is learning the steps and tile floor at her foster home, doing well with house training, crates when alone. Skylar is heartworm positive and is being treated as part of her adoption. She is spayed and otherwise healthy, just needs some major TLC. Name: Sonic

Sonic is a young adult Lab mix, a pretty big solid guy who LOVES to play. He will turn anything into a game. That roll of paper towels? Confetti. That ball you threw? He will grab it, run circles around you, and toss it back. Other dogs? Instant friends, no matter if they want to be or not. He is too enthusiastic for cats, he bowls them over in his play. He is the happiest dog we have ever met, and is all about having fun. He is very puppyish still, so needs an adopter willing to continue puppy training a big full grown dog. He is doing very well with house training, but not yet 100%- previously outside dog- and crates when alone. Sonic would thrive in a home with a fenced yard or land, another active dog, and someone to work on obedience with a very enthusiastic learner. He is joy in canine form. Name: Suzie

If you want a quiet, well behaved, friendly without being demanding companion, Suzie is your girl. At about 6 years old, she is past the rowdy puppy stages, and is a very calm and quiet girl. She is house trained, kennels well, very good with dogs and cats, but her favorite thing in the world is people. She just wants a home where she can shadow someone around and be loved on. Suzie is heartworm positive and part of her adoption is being treated for that through us, so looking for adopters within 2 hours of Monticello MN. She is a very gentle soul with a sensitive heart and so much goodness in her. Please email kladams4545@gmail.com

Name: Teddy

Teddy is a 13-14 year old healthy senior Shih Tzu whose loving owner passed away. He has been cherished and well cared for his whole life, and it shows. He has some fatty lumps like most old dogs, but is otherwise a perky, happy, well adjusted little dog. He is house trained, good with dogs/cats/kids, and would love a calm home with someone who likes walks and cuddling. Please email kladams4545@gmail.com

Name: Tootsie

Tootsie is a female Lab/Golden mix, about 4 months old and closer now to 25-30 pounds. This girl loves kids, gets along great with other dogs and cats, is incredibly bright and has the Retriever trait of working so hard to please. She is doing well with learning the house training and is crated when alone. She is still very much a puppy, so needs continued patience and training, but this girl is a treasure. Her fee of $550 plus tax includes spay, shots, worming, and chip, and we have a 2 week trial on all adoptions. Name: Trixie

Trixie is a 6-7 year old Shih Tzu mix who came to us because she took her job of protecting her elderly owner very seriously, and when nursing staff came over she was nippy with them- just what she thought she was supposed to do. She’s a very well behaved dog otherwise, perfectly house trained, no chewing, not a barker. She loves nothing more than sharing the couch or bed with her people and curling up, short walks, and playing with her toys. Trixie does well with other dogs and cats, but is also very happy as an only. She’s a dog meant to share her home with adults, not small kids. Trixie needs a home with someone who can continue working on her resource guarding her person/couch time. She will nip if allowed if someone else tries to touch her person while she’s lying with them. Given clear boundaries, it’s a non issue– she is perfect in her foster home. Without someone willing to continue boundaries and training she will revert back. Please email kladams4545@gmail.com

Name: Winky

Breed: Rat Terrier/Walker Hound Mix
Age: Adult
Sex: Female
Size: Medium
Description: Winky is a 45 pound very well behaved dog who is seeking a home where she can be the only dog. She has no idea she IS a dog; she is sure she is human. Winky is house trained, crate trained, knows some commands, and very well behaved inside. She is a very sweet with people and gets along well with everyone. Winky lives with other dogs right now but clearly doesn’t enjoy them very much, so would love a home where she is the only canine, and with not a lot of dog friends coming over. If she needs work on one thing, it’s leash walking when other dogs come up to her, she doesn’t love it. A home with a fenced yard or a calm neighborhood is ideal. She is smart, loveable, and going to make someone the best friend ever. Her fee of $450 plus tax covers spay, heartworm test, worming, shots and chip. Please email Katie @ kladams4545@gmail.com with questions. You can get a head start on the process by fill out the application above.
